Something special has arrived... Natural double-distilled, single-cultivar brandy, 5 year old, from De Compagnie in Wellington. Meticulously refined in an 1849 antique copper alembic potstill, this deep, old gold brandy has aromas of fig and cinnamon, and soft citrus flavours. Produced in limited quantities. Winner of Michaelangelo International Awards. €35 per bottle.

We welcome the red partner to Constantia Uitsig White at Paradisi – Constantia Red 2007. This sophisticated Bordeaux-style blend spent 15 months in French oak, 70% new, and this was an exceptional vintage. It is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Expect complex aromas of cigar box, spices and plums. Herbaceousness and mint follow-through to the palate. The Platter guide rates this a 4.5 star wine.
Priced at €16,40, this would partner wonderfully with a fine cheese platter, or with roast beef or lamb.
